FL Studio comes with FPC, which comes with around 50 sample packs (depending what version you have, I have Signature Edition). Also with FL Studio, I'd suggest getting plugins made by Image-Line. All the plugins they have made have come with the demo, as demos themselves. They were designed for FL Studio, so they will have FL Studio exclusive functions. Also, don't get the idea that FL Studio is a beginner DAW, like all the other DAWs, it is only as capable as the user itself. The easy and quick workflow is beginner friendly, which kind of makes it a bonus.

even though i know almost nothing about this stuff i am very much fond of what Velve is saying

learning music is learning its rules. creating music is breaking them

also trying to recreate stuff you like is perfectly fine. nobody in the world does stuff from absolute scratch, everyone uses references for their art
oh yeah
Now I'm going to have to disagree with you Moonshake, Fl Studio has it's issues and had it's benefits. Fl Studio makes Melody creation really easy and it also is okay with editing. Problems I had with it was the fact that it's recording software was garbage compared to other DAWs. Mastering in FL Studio is also annoying. stuff gets lost and side-chaining is a nightmare. I love fruity loops but I feel that it's just to far unorganized for me.

I'm not trying to get off topic. From my personal experience and from what my sound engineering friends will agree that Fl Studio just isn't best. Even Logic isn't the best but it's a great recording DAW as well as sound designing DAW. It's cheap and it works very very well. A program called Pro tools is the music industries standard for a DAW. Every DAW has it's flaws.

Back on topic,
Here's the link for the VEC packs. ReFX is one of my favorite companies <3

For the VSTs I suggest looking into this. | Watch the videos.

Fl Studio is good for beginners because it's so widely used that there are thousends of tutorials to watch and learn how music is made. Moving on to different DAWs is good because you learn what you can and can't do. Since I moved to Logic I've been able to work so quickly and I wouldn't of been able to learn it as fast as I did if I didn't use Fruity loops.

Top DAWs I suggest looking into is:
- Logic Pro (Mac Only)
- Ableton Live (Mac/PC)
- Cubase (Mac/PC)
- Pro Tools 11 (Mac) Possibly windows... idk

What the hell does FL Studio's recording setup have to do with Kradel wanting to learn how to produce electronic music? FL has a perfect setup for small scale recording setups that computer musicians need. There's no need to knock it because it's not built like a DAW built for handling raw audio.

Don't get any VEC packs. They don't allow you to progress as a producer. You're better off learning sound design, and scavenging for samples and sounds you prefer. You won't develop your own sound with someone else's sound.
NOODLE ARMS
You can take samples from the VEC Packs and combine them to make your own samples. For a beginner it's good, in time he can make his own without it. It's simply something to start with.

Recording is a huge part of music production, electronic music if you're going strait instrumental won't need it but for doing vocals in a song it helps to have a DAW that is reliable for that. If you read the entire post I also suggested looking into other DAWs and not just FL Studio. Albeton has a great work flow and Logic has great editing, I also suggested looking into VST bundles for when/if he wants to expand his painting pallet.

Fl Studio as I say is a great start because of the amount of tutorials out there. You can stay with FL and you'll be fine but it's good to try other DAWs to see what's good for you.

Also Kradel, It's a good start and I'd like to see you have a melody in there too.
Go to Channels>Add one>Sytrus. It's great because it has a ton of cool sounding Leads/bells/what not.
