If someone /can/ be talked down, then they likely never really intended to jump, yes that means they wanted attention and yes that could mean they are just lonely.
If you want a VERY clear indicator of how this work, look up statistics for male/female suicide methods, success rates, and reasons. Generally speaking males choose the most lethal method, have high success rates, and commit suicide because they want to kill themselves. Females in general choose less painful or more public methods, have lower success rates, and generally do it for attention. I'm not saying you shouldn't go talk to a man who's standing on the edge by the way, I'm just using this to illustrate the two major reasons for this kind of self harm.
If someone is standing on the edge of a bridge they have already done a lot of stuff that in there mind there is no going back from, they already have a plan and they already know how it's going to play out. Whether they really intend to kill themselves or not, they are in control. If someone is standing there even for a minute longer than necessary, then they probably never intended to kill themselves.
why discussion iin offtopic?
please ImmortalPig, please.
If you had had too much suffering and couldnt handle, with no expectations of life getting better, You might think suicide is an option.
Suicide is done to kill the pain, not the life, but the life is taken if succeded(life failure).
