HTOTM: FUSION
Stop posting one line posts people. And this isn't the place to suggest how the game could be improved. Unless you are using it to back up a more relevant point, don't treat this like a suggestions thread.

.

I can second this. When I started playing Toribash with some friends back in 2009, it was very hard to learn controlling the Tori. We just went in multiplayer and did some odd moves for weeks. The simple setting and uniqueness made us stay.

Howsoever, although I like seeing this activity with new stuff, ranking system updates, daily sales and events, I think many of the older users dislike them. Maybe such changes are hard to accept for them. And as mentioned earlier I also think that more and more older users leave now, as they got to study or work. Maybe time has come to concentrate on their private life.
I'm only cleaning here..
Zelda deleted it because it was useless.

"This happens from time to time. Immortals who do not develop the patience to remain immortal and such..."

That is not a useful post. You can read the sticky to figure out what sort of posts belong here. Don't respond to this post - we don't need this derailing the thread any longer.
Being a player from 2009-2010, I feel like the game has died a little bit. People used to be online a lot more and there were a LOT of artists blowing up the texture board, some for better or for worse. Now, I see all the same people playing, and not many new things posted on the texture board in a day. These two things alone tell me something is up. I hope we get another boom of players, but I'm not so sure that'll happen..
I'll have to agree with Cow on this one. I'm still fairly active, but I'm also reinforcing Marci6's point as well. I also feel that a lot of the creativity and things of that nature ended with the PromoTeam's disbandment. A fairly decent amount has changed in the last 7 years I've been a part of the community, There were some good decisions, and some bad. Nevertheless, I still moderately enjoy playing this game, Not near as much as I used to. Unless they screw something up tremendously, I'll probably still be around for a while.

Perhaps if you read into what i was saying, instead of just the words themselves?

Useless.
To point out that the observed sequence of events was commonplace.
Useless.

comparing dedicated consistent contributions to immortality, as opposed to impatience, was certainly nothing worth reading

so let's not allow anyone to decipher words, and just deem them.... useless.

might as well delete a useless post pointing out the uselessness of deleting posts.

Dude, don't try to be philosophical with your shitposts.

But ontopic:

I actually think the problem with TB is not only introducing new people, but also keeping it interesting for the "veterans"
All the events pretty much pamper the lowest common denominator (except for the recent CL and SPcup, which I'm all for), and because of that,
veteran players don't have much to do except duel, and fuck about (Good example being alpha/RA etc only being properly active when CL is around). The events are designed so that it's a massive pain in the ass to participate in any of them and when you've been a part of the same kind of events for so long; It really gets repetitive and not worth the hassle, without the event having intrinsic qualities, (Fun idea, interesting concept, great mod, good competition...) which is rarely the case for more seasoned players.

Of course freshening the game up is a massive task, and if 5.0 someday launches we'll hopefully get some new "innovations". I'm still personally waiting for the clan rework that "is being made" (I don't know if this is the case since its been in the making for about a year now).
I also feel like the structures which allow proper innovations to happen are broken. GM team does a good job in what they do I feel. Sure they don't know shit about any kind of competitive elements, but for fun events, tourneys and other management tasks they do a great job. Clan council on the other hand (In charge of the competitive/overall clan rework) is clearly just fucking about, smelling their own farts and being generally just completely useless. With some fresh ideas, new people and proper new innovations (Looking at you 5.0). I'm sure TB has still some life left in it.

Amazing post, couldn't agree more. There's a point here I'd really like to emphasize though.

This. So much. The job being done is mediocre at best.
I'd like to add that both Hampa and the council has a part in what has gone down in recent changes.
The fact that Hampa is listening to people who love talking about esports but never actually play is shameful. I'm not gonna say any names in here but if you need a hint, I've heard Hanzo isn't too keen on this person either.
This is an extremely important discussion that should be had between well spoken pro's of the game, not just staff, and certainly not everybody.
PM me with any and all questions
The clan council's primary focus isn't on events, it's about making decisions on which clans get official, who gets to be in the council and a little bit of policy discussion. I used to be in it earlier this year, and I don't believe I'm leaking anything when I say the this, but the leadership at the time didn't value council applicants' previous hosting + event planning experience highly. Including event development into the council's selection criteria would be beneficial moving forward, I feel.

There should have been another clan event by now. CL (which wasn't even a council event) ended ages ago. Remember the clan siege ages ago? Yeah, that was the last council event.

I had a really long post that addressed a lot of the "muh ranked isnt here yet, wtf clan council" baww in this thread but I know a brick wall when I see one.

One thing I'd like you all to realise is this: planning and development of features (such as the clan rework) takes massive amounts of time. The reason you haven't seen any actual clan related developments yet is because the scope of the project is huge. The write-up took literally months of planning, discussion and feedback before it was completed voluntarily by the Council without any request from developers for such a project. You should be proud that you're part of a community that has users so devoted to making a change that a comprehensive development plan is made and pitched to developers for implementation. It would have been easy to just make a small post in suggestions with a rudimentary elo system or slammed hampa for testing out ranked within the week of its implementation - they did neither. Right now the (now completed) Clan Rework is being discussed by developers on how to tackle such a large project, which is out of the Council's hands.

It would be nice to see the community collaborate more in the way the Council did for other large projects but, as you can see from almost every thread similar to this one, the loud minority generally reign supreme with armchair analysis of any and every community change. I'll happily be proven wrong by anyone who believes they have an idea that's been overlooked - my PMs are always open.
