With regards to your last point first:
We are fine with users posting so long as they understand the context, show that they understand the context, and contribute something meaningful based on that context. Yes, the standards are higher for what would count as a meaningful contribution for a user.
At the same time, all staff members are expected to have an understanding of and a say in the generally applicable context of the rules. For ordinary users, arguing from that context is usually backseat moderating, but moderators aren't backseat. Furthermore, most of the staff members that add to any given complaint thread are either providing context or are hierarchically above the person being complained about. Yes, we do defend each other.
With regards to the infraction you specifically received, I'll bug faint about it if I get the chance. It looks like it's not really super trivial.
As for closing threads immediately, if you are referring to the latest thread about Xylonn, that was closed by the user that posted the complaint according to the logs. If you have specific examples you want explained, feel free to post them.
If you feel your complaint was closed unfairly, we do not actually hold it against you to re-open/re-post it so long as you explain why you believe it was closed unfairly (note that explaining requires the explanation to also make sense).
