You need to make dawings out for geometric forms, not just draw what you think it should be directly.
You need to make measurements to know where to put, what size to draw, perspective and everything.
go and read some tutorials first.
I suggest you to draw in paper and scan the paper.
else you will need to make bezier curves directly, wich is harder.

Well uhhh...I have watched TONS of Tutorials almost everyday.
And yeah, i didnt draw the "geometric forms" or the armature, i just imagine the armature while drawing it directly.
All of these drawings in this thread are made by me using mouse, actually...i draw these in real life first(except for Tori, Uke, Hampa vector art), and i dont have a scanner so i just take a photo with my phone, and then i draw in my Laptop.

the photo works either way, I suggest you to make bezier curves for your drawings and turn into selections to paint.
use water in sai to blend colors or use the blend in step in photoshop.
I sugest a soft brush.
