I've seen this cycle numerous times before on many forums, new members get hazed until someone with a lower post count or earlier join date strolls in.
IRC is even more brutal, I remember my first month on IRC was hell. It's a shame that +respect is earned just by your join date or forum ranking.
People shouldn't rest on their laurels and achievements like that, let your personality and actions in the present speak for themselves, not what you've done in the past.
