I tend to not eat plastic but this really isn't an album made to please the masses, so I really don't see how this is cheap or gimmicky. If he didn't want to make something like that then he wouldn't. This was supposed to be an experiment, something new. Smashing middle-eastern music, rap, and Gorillaz influences and making it sound good probably isn't the easiest thing to do. If Dave wanted to make the same stuff he would have, but that's pointless.
It wasn't supposed to even have any singles released for the radio. I really don't think "Stylo" should have been the first single anyway, it only is because it was the first song to get leaked so they thought ok let's go with that.
