Remember how Toribash can have SCRIPTS?
Check out what Dafe made,

http://forum.toribash.com/showthread.php?t=85395

Pretty epic that script is. There's a whole lot of scripts out there, but really, they don't get much love.

However...

As of lately I've noticed a whole lot less scripts churning out. So I'm keen for you guys to fill out my poll so I can get an idea on peoples thoughts about the scripts currently available in Toribash.

Fill out that poll, and disucss the topic.

If the community asks, we can always add more scripting functionality, so remember, this topic is for what you guys want.

Lastly...

The person with the top-rated post in this thread regarding the discussion of this matter, will win a flame, so get them heads crackin'. This closes this time next week.

Some points that can be discussed are: ease of use, scripting functionality, fun, time etc...

Let's get that Toribash Scripting Community back up and running!

The enter_frame hook needs to fire during replay playback, and probably some support for recording inputs so the appropriate events can fire and replays will work.

btw, thanks for the plug.

Edit:
Also, really badly, Lua needs a way to trigger a win for one player or another, preferably with a win message argument on the function call.

Radioactive torso's description should be, "You have cancer like wow."
I do enjoy the scripts. They are a lot different than what toribash has to offer... Which in my opinion is exactly what Toribash needs. I would also like to see more inovative mods, when the stair mod first came out I was like... OMG, awesome. But the problem is, I can't do that shit, so I depend on others.... And that is my fault. xD
This is the Emergency Alert System. All normal programming has been discontinued during this emergency.
I love scripting, it adds a different variety of fun things and interesting things that can be done on toribash! :3

Yep that's true, but I don't see any innovation these days, and I definitely don't see much production from the community.

What's the problem in this regard? What can we do about it? Do we need to add something else to our API?

Or do we need to set up some new Scripts/Mods board, or change the organisation of the existing boards so that there's a cult following? I mean, like competitons, 24/7 servers with automatic mod rotation etc.

People, get the discussion rolling! Let's bring some user-made fun into Toribash, rather than contracting some shit, and running away.
I love how things like Blam's Admin Helper get picked up by the dev team and integrated into the game. It's very cool to see a script like that transform into something bigger and better, and be featured in the game. It's very cool to see how much you script-kiddies change the game, just with new ideas. I love that the developers are open-minded.
Dafe's script has really opened my eyes to what lua can really do for toribash, i can't imagine what kind of cool shit he will be able to do if what he said gets added :)

This is off topic, but I was told to post it here.

The game needs mod widgets. Like, someone should be able to write a small mod file for a sword, and I should be able to write a reference to it in my own mod file, so the sword is where I want it to be, positioned how I want it (bonus: scaled).

Also, relative positioning.

This stuff can be addressed via Lua, though. I just don't have the time.

Edit: To clarify on relative positioning -- I should be able to say that the sword is like a foot in front of Tori, instead of having to make 50 mod files for 50 different engage distances.
Radioactive torso's description should be, "You have cancer like wow."
I think that the achievement script Blam made a while ago should be expanded upon.

Also, I would really like to see more video friendly scripts. The freecam is fantastic, but there are so many more possibilities. Like a shader switching script, a texture switching script, a built in capture script that actually worked, things like that.
