So me and TP where talking and decided to enter the 2man head
texturing event. Representing Omega's Art Team.
The Event is as follows:
"Get ready to team up for a shot at 100k!
This time around you're going to teach your partner
the basics of your style, that is in texturing of course.
You are going to have to:
- Find a Partner.
- Make a team name. (Optional.)
- Post your team here.
- Teach each-other something about texturing.
- Make a head that incorporates what you learned, into your style.
- Make sure it follows the rules of the event.
- Lastly, Present it to our panel of judges.
- Judges will be HoboJoey, Monobi, and I
- Try to find somebody that is around your level of skill, that is, someone who you can teach, knows your jargon, and that can teach you.
The Teams will be judged on:
- Quality of the heads.
- How well both styles are incorporated.
- No stock Images allowed.
- Any style is allowed.
- You may only change a partner once.
- You may do whatever you wish to do with your presented heads, be it sell, keep, or wear.
- This event will end around the end of November. It may end sooner/later depending on how it goes."
I'm proposing to keep to the same style we do a gemini head. two heads that could fit together, for example this quick sketch I made indicates that one has a top mechathing and the other has a bottom mechathing that together could form a complete helmet, plus duplicating the same shape amoung both textures is an easy way of encorporating the same style.

As for teaching I mentioned gradient maps to TP earlier although do you have photoshop? I've no idea if gimp can hack it.
for the masses when I use a gradient map I use it on a grayscale Ambient Occlusion style shaded base. say I pic dark green to light green gradient. It then changes the shadow and hilights of the image to those.
for example:
I made this shaded base and then applied a gradient with greens and yellows.
to get this. Then added all the extra details. which is how I did it so quickly.
Also what are Omega's colours? when I made that clan head not so long ago.
I mainly went with red n blue just on a whim. Although I'd recommend others for this.
Also if your going to enter this, we're already registered as 'Omega's Art Team Reps' so you'd prolly have to enter as your own team. Team chibi-han ^.^ heheheee ;P
hmm we could also incorporate the Ω in there too.
