Vista. Vista and Radeon. Woo.
I used to play Toribash (<3) on my home computer and my "old" laptop. Both had Windows XP, and Radeon graphics cards that never gave me any problems beyond that of not being able to use special effects.
Now I was given a NEW laptop for Christmas, with Vista and a Radeon Xpress 1150 graphics card, completely different from the other two computers. I downloaded and ran Toribash. What did I get? A framerate of ASS and a "TTTTTT" replacing "TORIBASH" at the main menu. I also got "LLLLLL" for login and "SSSSSS" for setup. The numbers including score and time were all f***ed up, and it appeared that all number digits were being overlapped by a copy of the first digit in it's whole. Now, I know that this same problem has appeared before, and I went through the entire posts to find an answer. What was the answer? I was supposed to update my graphics drivers. That's all well and good, but when I went to the site where I could download said drivers, I went to input the required information, and saw my graphics card number nowhere on the list. I also told Vista to search online for new drivers, but it said they were up-to-date. I am stumped. Defeated.
Using my other computers are out of the question for the moment, AND NO I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO as my XBox 360's latest implemented feature is to crash. If someone out there could take time out of their day to help a poor sap like me, I would be very grateful.
P.S. I don't care about getting special effects to work, I just want to relieve other people of their limbs.
P.P.S. I REALLY HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO PLEASE HELP ME!!! T_T
