I've wanted an airsoft gun for quite some time now.
It's an automatic assault rifle, for less than 30 bucks, and my mom said no.
I'm 14, and that would've been the first airsoft gun I would've bought.
A lot of kids have them in my neighborhood, and they have skirmishes all the time in the construction site on the edge of the development.
Even with eye and body protection, my mom still thinks I'll hurt someone/become a scumbag.

Do you guys think that airsoft guns are dangerous or a bad influence?

Airsoft guns aren't dangerous as far as I know. Obviously, they hurt, but nothing permanent.

It's not as fun as you think it is, not to be a duby-downer. It's not really dangerous if you were saftey glasses, other than that it's kind of fun and hurts like a bitch if you have a good gun! I play paintball more the I do airsoft, paintball is the shiz-nizz brother, sorry got a little carried away there.

i dont think they are dangerous im also fourteen and i use hard air and the real thing....just follow safety precautions

You're more likely to cause permanent harm to other people hurling fruit at them than playing airsoft.

Worst-case scenario, you'll get some *very light* body bruising. The possibility of puncturing actual skin is pretty much zero, so your mother clearly doesn't know what she's talking about/is overprotective.

Airsofts are not the worst. Even though if you do get shot with an AK-47, it only leaves red marks just for few minutes. So mabye show your mother the comments of these threads?

I think my mom associates these guns as the old BB guns that used to leave nasty scars and welts and she doesn't want me to hurt myself or anyone else and get sued.
But I will show her this thread to prove my point.

I have a 1200 fps airsoft gun, which is almost a real gun. (1300 requires a license) If I shot someone in the neck it could probably kill them, or cause a lot of damage. However, that's probably as powerful as it gets. Something for 30 bucks could buy you a semi-decent 200-325 fps pistol or a low quality automatic machine gun with about 200-250 fps. A gun for that much can only give you a pea size welt at best, so I wouldn't worry.

There only dangerous when your too close of range to shoot someone/something. And if your not wearing safty gear. (Glasses, Etc...), Or if you have a over powered gun almost like a real gun. Like Pikaa's Gun.

It's a pretty safe sport, unless you make it unsafe.

heh me and my friends used to have wars with them. in his house. we destroyed everything but i dont think its dangerous if you wear goggles and stuff
