Wushu World Championship
Aikido is not the only mod deserving of a huge world championship event.
Wushu should get one too!

To avoid blatant running, this event should take place in a dojo or a box (boxshu.tbm)

I recognize that it may seem stupid of me to post such an idea, and maybe even insulting to staff because of the immense amount of work put into the Aikido World Championship, but Wushu sports an entirely different community than Aikido does. I am also not asking for a tourney as large as the Aikido Championship. Prizes would be smaller and just a more casual event.

This would of course be hosted by admins just as the Aikido Championship is/has been.

Currently I do not have much else to add, so feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I support this idea. Wushuers need some love, too.
Hosting it in boxshu might add a new dimension to the whole thing.

aikido is the only mainstream mod right now that is actually fun to watch when played competitively.

Are you kidding me? Wushu matches can get pretty awesome(and they dont take 10 hours to finish), it seems to me that aikido is the more redundant mod....

though wushu isnt really terribly mainstream.
Life is like staring at drying paint. The longer it goes on, the more you want to smash your face in.
@TheGod: Biased much? Wushu needs a whole different skill set than aikido and can get pretty intense when two skilled players play against each other. A wushu tournament sounds interesting and i do agree that there should be a dojo implemented to prevent running.

It's impossible to argue that one mod deserves one over the other because all mods have their player base

Wushu is one of the ones deserving of one, probably

The aikido championship thing was all down to hampa and sir and, I suspect, a one off deal

At the moment I would say that there's too much that needs to be fixed and sorted to worry about mod specific championships
She/They

Yeah, I only don't like erthtkv2 because of the mod's name. Make it "tkv2," and the mod will instantly become more popular. This is a valid reason as the name of the mod is still an important feature that no one seems to have yet discussed.

This coming from the guy who uses one of two openers every match, then proceeds to run and pod.
Wushu is very enjoyable to play and watch if the contenders are playing with intent for a fair match.

You kinda highlighted why the competitive play in wushu aint too fun to watch (hit and proceed to run, run and run). When you speak of wushu, do you mean wushu.tbm, or the brushy-like wushu3.tbm and similar?
Now doing recoloring for people not in the clan as-well, PM for more info!

That's Erth's point.

This big aikido tournament with insanely high prizes was an impromptu decision made by sir and hampa. It goes without saying that there are plenty of competitive mods in Toribash, despite who's personal preferences we use as a reference, so it's arbitrary to say what mod deserves a next big event.

With literally any mod there are cheeses. If we weren't shoveling in aikido you'd be complaining about snapkicking in taekkyon, or a hit and run the f away tactic in wushu. Hell there's a community of people who take pride in judo and would get upset if you were splitgrabbing (an opener intended to grab the torso and split them). Just have to keep moving forward despite the fact that most people who play a mod dislike the best tactics in that mod to win a game.

If the point of this thread is to say "Hey, people would enjoy a Wushu Tournament", we'd probably say "Yeah, we know. But we got other stuff on our plates atm"
