Democracy!
I'd prefer it if no staff of any kind post on this, for that could influence the opinion of non-staff players. I would like to hear the honest opinion of the community on whether or not they think it'd be a good idea for Toribash to become more of a Democracy.

i.e: After the staff team decides they think someone is fit to become a FULL GM (trial GM should be decided upon purely by the staff team in my opinion [sorta-not really like a closed primary]. THEN, the community votes on who the staff believe should become full), the community should then vote on whether or not they agree. Obviously, we would need some sort of "Absolute Threshold" where within maybe a weeks time at least 100 people needed to have voted for it to have influenced the outcome of the staff's decision.

Not supported, too exploitable. Someone who dislikes a GM could just make a ton of accounts, and continuously 'down-vote' that GM, and vice versa if a GM and a normal player are friends.

I'm no coder (is that a word?), but I'm pretty sure you can limit the vote per IP address... no?

You can't limit IPs period. That's why IP bans aren't issued in Toribash. As soon as you try to do that, players simply play/post/vote by proxy.
Need help?

One of the local moderators should merge this with the thread I made that was pretty much the same thing as this.

Like I had brought up in my thread, maybe just have us comment on the trials that are about to inaugurated, considering the gm's are here for US USERS in the first place, why not have us choose the ones we appreciate?

And about the whole "It's exploitable" issue, just having us comment and give our opinions on them would still give trials a chance even if someone disliked them enough to even do that (Even though the staff do have the power to tell if a user is using multiple accounts....)

They may not dish-out I.P. bans but it is possible to keep track of them.

I don't like this idea.
the people who run the forums and game are way smarter than me, and I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable. I wouldn't like the community to participate in this stuff, there's a lot of ass-holes in it. We may not like some of the staff, but the bad staff members get fired and the good one are kept on the job. If you want to make a change then you have to push yourself to join the staff members' ranks and take it upon yourself to get those changes implemented correctly.

There is already a sort of democratic theme to it as well. The staff basically requires our feedback. If they didn't use our feedback to craft the game and its rules, no one would play the game, per example.

I can understand that, and i've had plenty of people tell me to just send a complaint, but when I did do that I A. Received no feed back B. Had nothing change C. The trial went on to get unpunished and is now a full gm.

And, it's not like all of us who have opinions to share can join the team.

Bad staff members get fired and good ones keep their job

That's the thing, if we make this a realization, we can prevent rotten gm's from ever sprouting all together.

Yes, let's let all of the people who have no idea what it means to be a GM decide who gets to be one. That is a fantastic idea. There is no way at all this could go wrong.
All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That’'s how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day.

If you're not receiving any feedback, try contacting multiple staff members.

If nothing is changing, its probably in Toribash's best interest. If you still want that change, formally organize your request or proposition for that change's implementation.

If you're having trouble with a staff member, try contacting them or their direct superior before formally complaining about them in the appropriate board.

Exactly, if that were the case everyone would be staff. That would suck ass. If you want to join the team and express your opinions and beliefs with the rest of the team you have to prove you'd be more effective than everyone else.

I don't really get this, care to elaborate?

Yes, because us users will have the final say on who becomes one. Read my suggestion before you make the sarcastic replies please. Us putting in our feedback won't kill any ones chances, and we users certainly shouldn't get to directly choose who becomes a gm, but us putting in feedback and giving our thoughts wouldn't hurt anything hmm?

And c'mon man, you're really gonna put sarcastic shit posts on here when he's making a serious suggestion....?
