Those went quite ok, considering the level of complexity they had.
I find that in recent times some strange apathy fell over most of the clans, in that way that some individual members are always ready to participate but they find hard time to animate their fellow clan members.
It seams that compact and well organized clans with more then 4 ppl ready to sacrifice some of their free time to compete always make good impression in these events, showing not just skill but also something that can only be described as: friendly atmosphere, enthusiasm and will.
And yes, many ppl jump right into fry seeing some new event promising to ''kick some asses!'' while they didn't even read the complete event description, and then they either don't show up at all or as days pass they just forget or get lazy, or something else, and they ditch-out.
This is somewhat understandable for events that runs in pre-set time (events where players must get online in specific time), but totally incomprehensible for events that runs on loose time table and by agreement of two or more players.
Good example of this behavior is this event:
http://forum.toribash.com/showthread.php?t=314091
where many clans reserved the post entering it, but only 1 or 2 clans are actually working on something, while the event ending on Saturday this week and not one submission was given, and its a question will it ever be.
Year or two ago, this was unthinkable, as I remember, every art design event had many ppl posting their works and it was very tight competition.
As we know, even when some old names left us, some new ones come and replace them over time, but it seams this is not the case anymore. Less and less ppl are engaged in the community in 'correct way'.
We can discuss what is the 'correct way' for 100 pages but it would be pointless, since I have one point of view on it and every other person has something different, and we would just lose ourselves in the large discussion in a place where this discussion doesn't belong.
I'll just say that my vision of the correct engagement in this community is not a quest to became mod or admin (which many see as the ultimate goal), but to give something of yourself to the community in that way that it will engage ppl in some kind of gathering where the ppl of same interest would have some fun, interact and play, exchanging their culture, if I can say in that way.
I love making events, and yes I love making imaginary worlds where we can, for few hours while we play these events, be something else, playing the roles, acting, and in the same time play Toribash. I love showmanship, making some ordinary things to look extraordinary. And I love when ppl after the event say: Hey, this was fun, what will we do next?
For that I'm ready to spend every minute, hour, day, of my free time.
But, sadly, as much I hope for this kind of events, general apathy is just too strong to make ppl to engage in them. I can't understand that ppl are not interested to win some TC, Items and points for their clans that we are giving them free, while just asking from them is to have fun while they collect them.
That's like... Idk... Can someone explain it to me? Maybe I'm in some kind of delusions?
