Hot diggity-dog. My UK money will work! I think it's great that this game's becoming shareware, its one of the few indie-produced games that I truely enjoy and am happy to support. I've got brand new in-the box Playstation 2 and PC games that I'm not playing because I'm constantly having "Just one more round" on Toribash. People are complaining about 25 dollars?
You could do much worse for that price.

BLARGH!

I love the game...

But my parents hate paying over the internet.

The only time I know that they have bought ANYTHING over the internet was this coffee machine. They don't even trust websites like Amazon.com.

Oh well, I'm gonna have to convince my parents... Blargh

OUCH! Seriously, that statement wasn't the best P.R. declaration ever, guys...

Seriously, though... Toribash is a nice game, yes. But if you think a lot of people are going to pay for it, you can pretty much forget about it. Granted, the vast majority of players (mostly the casual players, me included), will stick to the demo version and forget there is a paid version. You don't have to be an expert to figure that out. Not that the community will die, or anything, just that it will shrink a LOT, and will probably take a long while to get this size again.

Well, either that or the players will just go play something else, like Soldat (which is still free, even though it has a central server). :

I don't think you understand community dynamics.

Populations decreasing is a compounding effect. I am drawn to games because there are a variety of opponents. I am not the only one with this mentality. If I go on a server and there's one dude, why is that fun? It's basically the same thing over and over again. Anyway, I'm not going to argue this any more. I've seen games which have potential try to act like businesses pre-maturely and they end in disaster. I would point to examples, but they aren't around any more so there is nothing to point at. Good luck, you'll need it.

I was expecting it.

I'm a bit short on money at the moment, but don't worry, I might not order right away, but with time...
That means wont be around as often, but I'll be checking for worthy updates that might convince me to pool some money together.

Damn. That's not fair. Sure - Hampa spent a lot of time on this game. But its not right to make people addicted to it, an then
to say: "Hey, if you want to play this game, you have to pay!"

(Yeah, I think, if you don't purchase 2.0 you won't be able to play MP)

This game IS worth the money, but it's not right to use an addicted Comunity for advertising. Like: "Hey, you made the game popular, you have posted links on other forums for it, because of you this game is famous - good job, now we can earn money for it!"


I'll pay, but I'm really disappointed in you, hampa.
