Nah, because it'd end up with people spamming vote downs for a particular thread, you should use common sense, learn about the thread before you rate it down, and vice versa.

I think a more reisricted area for the smarter, more respected members of the community would incoridge them to post more effectivly and frequently because you will know what you are say wont fall on dumb ears. This would also prevent some of the idiotic spam posts in serious topics.

Yeah, the sticky thing is scaring me every time I go to a new board.

I guess that's a good sign though. That means it's probably scaring the people who actually need to read the stickies!
Although it'd be nice if it went back to normal after you've clicked on and read the stickies. Hrm.

These "flashy" stickies are good (even if they are ugly at my thought) since they call & keep your attention. At least, people will take time to read them a little bit more often.

Though, I like hanz0's suggestion, because they are getting boring after a while.

Red stickies would be cool too, they would fit the red & black theme.

The best thing to do is to make "blinking" stickies : they would really call your attention, but they would hurt your eyes. Plus, I doubt it's possible to do these kind of things with vBulletin. I'm not sure of this though.

Regarding this, I don't know really what kind of incentive will motivate people to post good threads. And, not to mention, many of the good threads that are posted could be potentially ruined by the people who'd post in it.
