It takes a spectacularly unique kind of jackass to cock up such a ridiculously simple request as stated in the OP. It really is shocking to me how unbelievably naive the general toribash populous is, that they think what you've "created" here is even remotely good.

Let me run down how this thread has played out, and how DarkJak as an artist works.

OP-"I would like a crusader helmet"-Notes: Simple request, you would expect to receive some medieval style helmets.
DJ-"I'll take the job!"-Yay!
OP-"Brilliant!"
DJ-"[img]shit[img]"- Now here comes the shocking part, because darkjak makes basically the same texture every single time, and they dont look entirely shitty when viewed without any knowledge beforehand about the request, a simple minded person would see this texture as... not shit.
OP-"OHMAHGAWD!"-How easily he is duped...
DJ-"I so good"-And I die a little bit inside every time you make money off another one of your truly abysmal textures.

You really are a git, DarkJak. It pisses me off to no end that you can pass of what honestly looks like a space marine as a crusader's helmet. The fact that you can dupe the easily influenced members of the community is nothing to be proud of. You do not make quality work. Don't be proud of yourself.

Even if we go back and look at your old work, like the Halo heads, it's nothing spectacular, or even impressive. It is, in a word, mediocrity in visual form.

No doubt this post will be ignored by you as some raging lunatic, but deep down, deep deep down in your core, you must know that your work is looked down upon by anyone who has spent an ample amount of time working with textures, or even in the market. God knows every other texture artist who lived through your visor phase hates you with a red hot fiery passion.

Go learn some basic art skills.

That made me think twice about DJ head.
What shold i do:
Give him a second chance?
Desqualify DJ?
Close the event?
Do nothing let it go and ignore DJ head?
I'm leaving it to yours hands, since i'm not a judge, just a normal player without a strong personality.

i know this is the wrong place but darkjak has amazing talent and is arguably the best, if you beg to differ why don't you try this request?

Also, maybe it wasn't clear in my post, people who like DarkJak's textures are easily impressed, they also happen to usually be morons.

Unfortunately, he has no sense of style and can only draw one thing.

YouDown, this is a request; requests don't have judges, events have judges. More so, this is your request. You are paying about 140k+ to get the best head that you can. Since you are paying for these heads, you of course decide which head you want or which head "wins". It's pointless to leave your request that you are paying for in someone else's hands.

The fact that Sprooj seems to dislike DarkJak's style does not mean you must suddenly disqualify DarkJak. Sprooj is just trying to help you by informing you about his views on DarkJak's style. That is all.

If you dislike a head then naturally you don't buy it. If you really like a head then naturally you can buy it (Even if it isn't such a puzzle piece fit to your request). It's your choice man.

EDIT: Eh... Sprooj that's not the point. I'm trying to say that it's YouDown's choice on what to do for this thread. Since YouDown seems to think that he suddenly should close this thread, or do some other extreme sort of action due to an your post.

DJ, you totally deserve this btw. Everything that has been said is right on the money and you need some humbling before you will become a better artist.

Sigh, to let you guys know, the original posting also had a robotic style down as an option. That was where I started. I asked the OP, and he said it was okay to continue down that style. The request was limited back to a crusader after I started.

You can try to influence the OP, down rep me, and attack my textures however you like. I seriously have much more urgent things going on right now as a rising senior. I THINK some of you are in college right? If so, you should know that applications really kill your time, and I plan to be sending out 6-10 to make sure I get into at least one school of my liking.
I like texturing because it's a pretty soothing thing to do, it calms me down a little, and I'm sorry that you don't like my stuff, but it's the best I can do.

Now I know you guys hate me, but I REALLY don't believe your goal here is to make me a better artist, or grow my style. That's what the artists who provide c&c on my work do, and if you aren't aware, these comments are not helpful.
So why do this? Just for your own amusement. It's summer, the days are long, perhaps you are stuck at home all day. Why else would you be organizing an attack on IRC?

Additionally, I don't do requests much, because every time, the same group of guys come and try to dramatize a request.

@YouDown: It IS your decision on what to do. You are the one spending tcs on this, so it is your moment to be the boss. If you choose to continue the request, I'll keep working on it. Perhaps it would work out better as a series of PMs between you, epic4chris, and me.
If you choose to disqualify me or close down the request, I'll still be working on the head and might PM you the results when I'm done.

@sprooj: not a bad head. I'd probably still take chris's over it, but it sure is better than the counterexamples posted last time. I think it was War_hero then?
