Look up the theory of the Big Crunch, I don't think there are aliens alive now, but if the theory of the big crunch is true, Then there could have been billions of universes before us, surely at least one of these must have contained some other kind of life, even if it was just the kind of one-celled organisms we came from.
I'll give a brief explanation of why I believe what I do:
It is believed that the universe is 12 billion years old - correct me if I'm wrong
If the theory of the big crunch is correct then we can say that matter has been around for any number of universes before ours, lets say 1 billion to make this easy. 1 billion x 12 billion = 12k trillion, an organism could have been created on another planet on every millisecond of those 12k trillion years, it's highly improbable that it has never happened
