i have no idea how to comment on this...but kids mostly dontread because of school and how they react the reading stuff...thats all i got

In all honestly majority of the kids nowadays doesn't read any kind of books. Either they play games or just wait for next day. But I do believe that there is still a tiny population of kids that's still interested for reading any kind of books.

Eh, school makes reading look boring and they give the kids crappy books, so they aren't really encouraged to read.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to see the apparent irony in this thread.
Kids are texting more nowadays. I think what they text and read doesn't really help them.
Other than that, I don't really see a problem. I think their ability to read is fine, though their writing could use a little more improvement.
My seniority means you should probably just agree with everything I say
