Uki, or uke pronounced "oo-kee," is incorrect. There is a Japanese word "uki," but that is a fishing bobber, not a training partner...

Not really, just to get lower from the start, you know have a lower stance n stuff, also you have to make sure to hit the mid section dead on or else it will just glance off. Just my two cents
