You're doing a better job with smoothness than i did in my Blender time. =P
I think there was something called Multisampling or something, can't remember, but it smoothed out the models quite a bit, by splitting up the lines and faces and such.

I think the shape at the base pluss the branching arms don't help make it look more like a stone beast. Also, the pointed tips. I think if they are more jagged, it would look more stone. Cracks would help too.
It isn't bad though. Reminds me of the tree stylings in some indie games. Far better than anything I can make. Plus I only know engineering crap in solidworks XD

As said, I want the color of the stone to be more y'know, uhm... Charred.

See the rocks on the left? Something like that. So I don't want to use grey. I just need better textures.

It's not really a stone "beast". It's a crudely made statue.
Cracks... Now that I got the Amb Occ to work, I might be able to do something like that without fucking it up.
I'll see what I can do. :P
