Once you get used to a drawing pad, it's quite easy to use, in my opinion. The only thing you have to keep in your mind is that you have to look at your screen to see where you are drawing, which was quite confusing at first.
yeah, I found it extremely hard to pay attention to both. It's either I look at the screen and get misplaced lines or look at the pen and have no idea what I'm drawing.
Exactly. The drawing pad requires two sets of eyes.

I don't know which one to look at and I'd like to find out which one benefits the drawing.

Wait - you don't have two sets of eyes? I thought that was normal

More seriously: You don't have to look at your pad, the center of your pad is the center of your screen; edges of your pad are edges of your screen ;o

(Actually there are some slightly more expensive pads which have a screen, so that's like the super awesome kind of drawing pads)
Well the whole point is you don't know where the pen is, so you don't know if you're drawing on the center or edge. And I'm pretty sure those drawing pads with screens are iPads with a stylus.
Pitch,

Etch-a-sketch.

That is all I must say.

What if any of you guys had a drawing pad? Draw a dog.

Mouse cursor = pen location

also, didn't know there are 23" iPads out there ;o

Totally looks like an iPad, doesn't it?

@Omega: Even with a drawing pad you'll suck at drawing things, you'd suck drawing in real life, so nope, no dog for you >:U

I've never touched a paper and a pencil at the same time.

I guess you're right. I take no offense to the truth.

At my school, we have kinder garden buddies. Sometimes we have to use kiddy drawing programs and IT IS A PAIN.

Maybe it's only a pain for me because I am used to drawing on paper.

Every time I try to use a program my hands shake, so all of my drawings look squiggly.
