Aww shucks. I think I actually blushed a bit, thankyou. Yeah, I'd like to sit down and just work on one individual thing, but I'm constantly getting projects and work in that I have to complete.

I was part of a large project a couple months back, a huge in-game landscape assignment that I had to apply for to get a part in. It took over 140 hours, 34 of which were mine.

I'll find a picture of it sometime.

I can't really tell you exactly how, I might upload a tutorial on here someday, maybe a weekend when I have some free time.

But since you seem so intrigued I thought I'd tell you bit more about it, hehe. I sketch the images on paper, scan it and send it to another artist. They tell me what colours to make it and what type of terrain pattern etc they'd prefer it.

They give me a 3D shape to which I will apply the texture.

Then I paint, brighten (or darken) it and stretch/morph it to whatever size their 3D image is.

And I end up with something like this (bottom right corner):
P.S. I took this picture on my desktop so I could show you the icon (I'll get into that later)

Oh and sorry for the extra crap on that image, like the stuff around the texture. It's the only example texture I had and my sister took it while playing... So yeah.

Now for the Perfect World icon, you can always make little things like that and send it into companies, they might accept it or they might not. In this case I made the sketch for that icon, the symbols etc. I never got credit for it though...

and I just wrote waaaaay too much... sorry bout' that, I get carried away when I start ranting. Or so my friends say. (<--- I have friends?)

This is my problem as well, when I post I realize that I wrote too much. And I agree com Joshy, you could try to do a decent texture set someday. Oh, and who are you behind there? Or is it just your friends?

Oh and by the way sorry for the low quality, just noticed. The texture is pretty blurry. Oh well, I'm tired... that's my excuse.

I have always wanted to get into 3D design, but I am naturally god awful at it. I shall learn one day. Probably in Cinema 4D? I dunno.
