The kick wasn't harsh at all. He didn't know the reasons you couldn't get on, so he kicked you. As well as the other people that were inactive. It's in the rules, if you'd like to read them.
The internet couldn't have been bad enough where you couldn't load ANYTHING. Then it wouldn't be internet at all.
