Why you ask?
Because it's a part if my instinct, of which only very few can go against.
It's the same as when you let yourself fall face first, your arms will instinctivily break the fall.
If you can resist against your deepest instincts I commend you on that.

It would he quiet hard to tell your body 'let me fall on my face'.
In the animal vs human case, it could depend on who the person is too.

I'd say 85% would save the human, I think the remaining 15% has either lost their trust in humans due to a traumatic experience for example or are people that are animal fanatics.

OMG that is sooooo true I see a dog get killed on a film, I feel like crying but when a person gets killed on a film, I'm like... Who cares.
