Personally, in terms of speed, Sonic is top priority and happens to be my main fighter of choice. He does cruddy damage though, unless you got the skill to bypass this block. But when in doubt Go MEGAMAN!!!! You can never go wrong with Megaman bro!

Falco is still my main and I've never really had a problem with Link so you could try that

Yeah, he's quite a nuisance to play against, particularly with that move you mentioned. Haven't tried him yet though, so I'll keep him in mind.

I was gutted when I heard they weren't making the cut. Duckhunt was pretty much the replacement for them, though I will say that Duckhunt has grown on me quite a lot. I don't understand why they couldn't have included Ice Climbers too though. Seems like Nintendo enjoy pissing people off.

Sonic is the most irritating to play against (on second thought, not as annoying as Link), definitely an 'annoyance character' like you mentioned, but I seem to beat him in the end. Just takes a lot of patience and willpower xD
