This point is far enough but I would rather you just kept to saying that Islam is backward rather than claiming that Islamic countries are the most backward countries (but only if you conveniently exclude all the other "ass backwards" countries from the equation). Other countries are not particularly relevant to whether Islam is necessarily oppressive and violent.

Is that ok? Or am I typing out of my ass?

This thread is about Islam, however. There are plenty of shitters in the world, and I don't want any of them anywhere near me. I'd rather not have Kim Jong Un as a neighbor either, but this thread isn't about him. Again, it's about Islam.
Hoss.

This would have been an ideal argument against SmallBowl which, to be honest, I am embarrassed for not making myself.

I don't think that's fair. The evidence (e.g. that map of sharia by application I posted earlier) points to the majority of Mesopotamia and the Arabic Pennisula as having implemented full sharia law (criminal code included). If you google 'LEDCs' you'll see (here) that only one of the Middle Eastern countries that've implemented sharia fully is classified as a LEDC.

"There's worse things in the world, so why are we even talking about this?" isn't a good argument to make.

Once they start judging it by western values, sure.

Right, quoting someone who got someone exiled, smart move, very stimulating.

The majority of muslims don't even live in the middle east, let alone being goat farmers.
<Faint> the rules have been stated quite clearly 3 times now from high staff
Muslims are not terrorists. iam also an muslim it doesnt mean that u say iam a Terrorist . Like the attack in paris from terrorists. they interviewed a terrorist and asked him Questions related to islam. The terrorist didnt even answered a question right. They were all wrong . They are not Muslims.

Nobody here thinks that all Muslims are terrorists.
Good morning sweet princess
I think he's saying Muslims are not terrorists, rather than not all Muslims are terrorists.

In which case he'd be wrong. Radical Muslims are still Muslims. They're interpreting the same faith, albeit in a more violent, death-oriented way.

But, he's right in implying that your everyday Muslim isn't to blame. The same way that your everyday Christian isn't to blame for all the bad stuff going on with it.

@Pig, I'm done with discussing this with you.
We're discussing a lot of other big issues with Islam, Kusunoki. Oppression, equality, human rights (and I'd like to add wahhabism).
I didn't think I'd participate in the discussion since it doesn't make much sense to me. Any religion depends on thousand of years old books, translated and re-translated in different languages by people who do not necessarily agree on the meanings, to be read and interpreted in more other ways.

There's no violent or peaceful religions, only violent and peaceful people, and social environment.

But that made me laugh :

Just like african-american slaves, they were doing perfectly fine before the yankees gave them some ideas of emancipation & freedom. Or Tibetans, they were doing perfectly fine with the chinese government before western values messed up with their minds. Or women being excised in some poor african countries, they were doing perfectly fine before they started hearing about western values.
Ahhhh those western values... xD
