I'm pretty sure being nice and spreading positive "ripples" through every aspect of your life is not overrated. I think the only way to change the mindset of tearing people down to building them up is by being nice, now I don't think every occasion calls for being nice, and what I do to liberate myself from social niceties is joking with a friend-we say some harsh shit to each other, but when there are strangers searching for our approval, and they are new/ignorant/offend you/ me with actions that they have taken I think it might behoove us for the sake of toribash, to let them down gently and encourage more out of them...

@skywalkr : My bad,being nice to people that aren't worth it is overrated.I understand what you mean,but I didn't feel like lying to him that he has the skills necessary when I thought he didn't.It's also clear that you and me have different ways of coping with society.I have no friends that I jokingly pretend to (verbally) fight with,as I've seen my fair share of fighting between people and have no desire to engage in such activity(even for comedy purposes).Still,if urbancake had read the rules and looked at former applicants that got accepted,he would have seen that he had virtually no chances from the start.I really don't appreciate it when people don't pay enough attention,and I guess that's what pissed me off.Amongst other things such as the blatand ripoff of wiirus's 3d art.Maybe being nicer have put me in a better light,but it would also be dishonest of me.

@puredevil : Yeah,I've seen it many times.It's a pretty good movie,as long as people don't assume it's the complete and true autobiography of Eminem.I think it's the only movie of it's kind that I have seen,and I liked it.You can also check out The Wash,I remember it was kinda funny.

@lordtiger: I understand where you are coming from, and I think I know the emotions that you might be feeling, and I think I know how you feel about urbancake, I also feel like he does not deserve to be here, and I also think we should raise the belt level to 3rd or 4th dan. And all I'm just expressing here is what I might do. Often I ask myself questions like what would Buddha do, or Jesus.....which is funny because I'm not religious...But I also feel like I would teach someone who doesn't know the rules who is not very good, and makes weird pics that its not acceptable and what not. Before I berate him.

even if we do change the belt requirment, it wont stop people applying, i always tell people that black belt is minimum, but only some listen to me, most still come and apply.

I also think that raising the belt limit isnt a solution. I think that even make it worser because then the black belts could come and start begging for letting them join hunters with the reason they are super-skilled and this stuff.

There are no shortcuts to having good mature members so we'll just have to reject idiots and be patient till another one of a kind applies for the clan.

kicks got it and i disagree with higher belt req since i got in with brown.. if it would have been higher, i guess that I wouldn't have applied here.
