First our tags have 7letters P-H-O-E-N-I-X not 8!
And it's good!Why we should make it shorter?

erm... some ppl are in things like judo league or wushu league, tht uses 2 digits, with 7, it will become 9, i recomend shorting it tp Phnx or Phx

read what hebr said name must be 8 including the brakets making us 9 and some people put a org infront like JL so its like JL[Phoenix]ragzy8 (no that it was me just a show)
but i have seen a clan called [New-Clan-dragon-blade] i told him and he removed tag.
