Such idea has been around since long time, wonder when it will really come out public.

Also the beta tag , I'll be surprised if it dosen't remain in beta for atleast 6-12 months..

But it remains to be seen whether it will be as restrictive and controlling as Microsoft. Let's hope not.

It'll probably be worse, with lots and lots of programs that send your personal data to google to adapt their advertising campaigns, just like Chrome.

Google about the Google OS features, they aren't gonna put a crapload of nonsense on their OS.

Have you notice the latest news? Most of the stuff I use is now out of beta, not saying it took a reasonable time, but atleast it's progress.
Whereas llinux distros go, I think that it should be far more used by retailers, as a well built linux can look far more unique while beeing just as comfortable to use as microsoft.
It is time for microsoft to go ... open source.
The aim of google is to make the experience browser based so I wouldn't expect much f their OS.
