^ That. It's most definitely a cool thing, which allows for many awesome uses, but until it's more or less universally supported, i think i'll stay with GIF's. I'd rather have everybody be able to view a medium-quality animation rather than 40%* being able to view a high-quality animation.

I like apng because it is lossless. Gifs only use 256 colours, which is teh suck.

I read something about this a few weeks ago, I have no clue what all the technical aspects are, but I knew from the get go that they would be better...and from the examples you show it looks like they certainly will. Gifs are fun to make, but yeah, the quality of them is normally shit.

I dont think it is at all silly to expect browsers to support them either, its a better medium.

Firefox already supports it.

Well, it looks allot smoother, I'll tell you that, but APNG wont be anything without the other browsers. I prefer Firefox, but there are plenty of people who use Enternet explorer
