No. Standing is actually encouraged. So, if you have a table that is high enough for you to put your screen/keyboard/laptop on and see/use ergonomically while standing up, you're supposed to do so once in a while. We have tables like that in my school.

Hm.

Well standing straight up and down for a prolonged amount of time hurts my back and exhausts my feet. (I primarily have Type-X2 muscle fibres which makes static muscle work a hassle.) So yeah, either I lie, sit, walk, or run.

Mind explaining what the hell you're talking about? Perhaps provide some evidence? And please please PLEASE explain what the hell you mean by "Playing TF2 turning you into a mentally deranged degenerate", because otherwise I'm going to murder something. (Read: ban you) Also: Somehow I don't think you know what a habit is. Being mentally deranged is not a habit.

True story bro.

It's been a while since I've laughed out loud to myself.

SNAP* backontopic

In school, when I'm chatting up the chicas, I never bring up electronics of any kind (other than music). It's always the same response, i.e: "oh"...>_> and then walk away, and then I'd just stand there like an idiot. I don't think anyone I speak to on a regualr basis other than my family know that I'm a geeky-geek-nerd-geek-dork, except my geeky friends <_<.

on a related topic,

"social ineptitude" is caused by COMPOOTURS AND XCUBES AND GAME-GAME BOXES. Oh p-shaw, don't be a silly goose. My boyish charm/colourful vocabulary/witty-wit/ extroverted disposition wouldn't be with me without "MY COMPOOTUR". the intarwebz has helped me work on all my language skills, because the internet's anonymity allows for the slamming of idiots and D-bags. That's helped me, because I, too, was once an idiot (hard to believe i know), but now I know how NOT to be one.
I love you

except your eyes see at 60 frames per second, this makes the brain see it as being consistant. Its hard to explane but the flashing is to fast to be regestered as flashing.

But it still happens, whether you conciously see or notice it. ;o

I'd say that is is worth refuting. For a more open ended game like toribash, you can do whatever the fuck you want. Although, there are many games that are very linear and closed.

Also, as someone who has experienced a bit of MMO addiction(eat, sleep play, etc), I did not suffer any eyesight problems, headaches, or back problems. It was also the most laid back and amazing week of my life !

The idea that screen flicker is bad for you eyes is complete bullshit. 60fps is about the same as the maximum rate our eyes take in images. And out persistence of vision smooths everything over anyways. If anything, sore eyes should be attributed to the brightness of the screen.

People who blame the computer on the minor ailments of others usually seem to be masking their own insecurity about being completely helpless on a computer. I don't understand it, so it must be bad. You rarely see someone who knows anything about computers attributing a headache to computers.

It's a well known fact that you actually strain your eyes, which then causes headaches. Doesn't matter for what reason you strain your eyes, it happens. Now, it depends on what kind of screen you have, how far you sit from the screen, what background light you have and for how long you use your PC without any breaks.
