You know, I think that it's not so bad of an idea-- given that it is fake.
What I mean is that if you were dumb enough to want to go into any place where the was an almost 90% guarantee that you'd be raped, would you then not deserve it, having passed a large disclaimer that stated clearly "You will be raped should you pass this point." It's in that sense, that I would expect anyone to pass by a disclaimer like that to be wanting of sex.
um would it actually count as rape though? As the 'victim' knows that at the end they are going to be assaulted and they go willingly then surely that counts as consent so the artist would have grounds to defend his case. I'm not very knowledgeable on law in Ohio but that seems to be the case.

Firstly, it's a fake. Second if it was real I would completely agree with you. Even the concept of this is pretty disturbing.

The artist plans to place himself in a room, the only entrance or exit being a 22 ft long plywood tunnel constructed by Whitehurst himself. Then he says that for the duration of the gallery’s opening (from 7:00 p.m. to midnight) he will rape anyone who travels through the tunnel into that room.

Too bad it is fake though

If you kids don't calm down, daddy's gonna send you to the Rape Tunnel!

That is a good point, i guess.
I think the whole idea of it could be illegal, though.
