As a parent i bought my son (14 years old) an airsoft gun. I made sure it was one of the lower velocity guns (200-300 fps) and I made sure he understood proper safety procedures, mainly proper eye protection. I know for a fact that a rock from a slingshot would do more damage than an airsoft gun. It is really a pretty safe activity if done properly.

I don't think that they are dangerous, as long as you don't shoot in someones face.

they arent dangerous, but if you have a very strong airsoft it can go through the skin/flesh. that means the ones which are strong are dangerous

Airsoft guns are not dangerous whatsoever, besides getting shot in the eye, which all you have to do is wear glasses or buy some eye protection goggles. In fact, I just had an airsoft war with many types of different airsoft guns, and the only thing that hurts the most is if you get shot in the fingers or some body part that isn't covered in clothes. Tell your mom that this isn't very dangerous, and you deserve to have an airsoft gun.

I recently bought a airsoft gun... A glock 17 (600 fps). The first thing i did was to invite my friend to my house and i shot him in the leg (from about 3 feet). He got a bruise, nothing more.

It's not dangerous as long as you protect your eyes. (Like everyone else says).

For example it you hit some1 into the eye or into and open mouth or the balls (dont laugh i have seen it by myself).
But if you ask me Airstoft-guns are not really cool, try paintball.ItДs safer and makes much more fun.
And i wouldnt buy an automatic gun cuz often they dont have a goot quality.

I would agree with Lucker, or maybe if you have a big backyard or something, buy a sniper-type airsoft or bb gun, it is fun to snipe targets and stuff, but I think it is a lot more fun to have paintball wars rather than airsoft wars.

Me and my brother have airsoft "wars" all the time, we have never been hurt and i find them perfectly safe as long as you dont act like a retard with them.....
