The problem with newer feminist is they want all the reward and no risk. Want the pay of a man? You have to be eligible for the draft as well. Want to hit a guy, slap him? He can slap you back and slam a self defense case on your ass. If women want the same rights, they have to publicly claim the same responsibilities as well. Not all feminist are like this (I'd say less than .5% are crazy), but the only ones anybody hears about are. They don't hire gaming nerds to market video games, they hire marketing teams. Retail and marketing are the bane of women everywhere. It is a personal choice to "cater for the men" - obviously for the goal of money as it is well established that women are grossly outnumbered by men in gaming.

If "that's the joke", then it's a terrible one with a huge amount of ignorance.

Catering to men in advertising makes sense. A man has to make his own money, he can't just marry rich like a woman can. So, men tend to control the money more often. Thus, an ad catered to a man is more successful.
