Keep in mind that your cpu has to be able to process all of it.

If it can't your cpu will bottleneck, and you'll get even worse peformance.

He has just got an i7 920 so that shouldn't be a problem.

Just installed.

Went from ~35 FPS on Just Cause 2 to ~75

Wow. Of course, the over 100% scaling may be due to the 5-10% overclock I added to the MSI card, but it was only 3-5% more than the BFG card already had.

No artifacts in furmark, although it does reach the same toasty 71 degrees Celsius that the BFG did. I have it on the top slot, since the TwinFrozr fans can probably take more heat.

I'll be testing it in crysis now. Originally @25-30 fps max, ~20 min, I'll update with results!

Does overclocking the Graphics Cards boost your FPS a lot? I tried overclocking my CPU, but it phailed, as my ram can only handle 1066 MHz (already maxed out).

I don't think it had as large an effect though. 10% may be ~3-4 fps.

It's noticeable though.

I'm still angry for you getting the GTS not GTX+ which isn't that much more $ and a crapload better.

Is there a GTX+ for the 250? I thought it was only for the 9800...

250GTX+ is a rebadged 9800GTX+

All the gts cards are still on the previous architecture, G92b iirc. Gtx cards are on newer ones, starting from gtx 260.

Heh, now I regret not spending more, but the 260 was about 50-60 bucks more at the time, which was too much for me. And I wasn't very knowledgable at the time :P

but this should hold me over until nvidia releases the next generation of cards, after fermi cuz fermi is too hot for me. Even right now, I don't feel so good about 70 degrees. I would faint if I see 95 (!!!).
On the other hand....I COULD just wait for the 5000 cards to finally drop in price.
