Agreed with the post above, Blind Guardian is one heck of a great band, their songs offer a great diversity.
A song from one of their newer albums.
There are a lot of great symphonic and power metal bands that I like and I could spam a huge number of videos in this post but that would probably just upset people so instead I will only post a handful of song that I am into really much now.
We will start with Sabaton from Sweden. A heavy metal band that really gets in touch with their fanbase and I could write more but people would not read any longer text so I will just throw ye' a video instead.
Their songs are mainly focusing on famous battles which has taken place over the course of time.
One of my favourite power metal bands ever, Domain from germany. They are awfully overlooked in my opinion and although not having any spectatcular vocalist their songs surly offer some great guitar solos.
Last song to show is from Rhapsody of fire. These guys from Spain finally released a new album of great symphonic metal and sure is it great but I am going to choose the song which introduced me to the whole metal scene. Dawn of Victory.
Alright, although I wont give any more videos I am still going to tell you about a few great metal bands which will mainly go from symphonic, power and melodic metal and link a song after each of them.
Dark Moor-These guys are like Rhapsody from Spain and their first album released 1999 isn't that great to be honest but they have improved greatly over the course of time. Sadly their lead vocalist Elisa Martin left the band, she had a great voice. The song I am going to link is A new world Elisa Martin was still the main vocalist when this song came along. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kRB42_lR_8
Alestorm-One of the best heavy/power/folk metal band I know about. I am not sure in what category to put them in because they have so many different elements in their songs. Let's call it Pirate metal. That's right, these guys from Scottland have only songs that have pirate inspired lyrics, yarr!
Theirs first song was horrendus though but just like with Dark Moor they have improved fast, really fast. The song I will link is from their first album, Captain Morgans Revenge http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfYq-7zAQFA
Amon Amarth-No huge fan of these fellas since it goes quite close to death metal. But because of the fact their newer songs are quite melodic in retrospect to their older albums this band has made enjoyable songs for me.
Conquest-As I already mentioned in the MG organisation I have really no clue from where these people are from. Some sources say Ukraine and others Finland, if someone knows I would be glad to know. Nevertheless they surly make great power metal. The song is Far Away http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVEO9KSPHOk
Derdian-One of the only power metal bands I know about that come from Italy with a few exceptions you will see later. Truthfully it wasn't long ago since I heard from them for the first time, I am glad that I did though, better late then never ehh? Anyways, the song is Immortals Lair. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zXOh-MbAjY
Dragonland-A power metal band from Sweden which offers little variaty to what music I ordinary listen to, I am not sure what it is...hear for yourself.
The song is Antimatter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtDC9yyGfNQ
Dream Evil-Another Swedish band that falls into the heavy metal box. Because of this I am no huge fan of them, I am more leaning towards power/symphonic/folk metal, but they have a few really good songs.
The song is The choosen ones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQmrhsO8JMY
Dreamtale-A really nice power metal band from Finland. Dreamtale reminds me alot about Nightwish only better in my opinion. A plus is that they soon will release a new album, yay :>
The song is Fool's Gold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP2DeacXIJg
Edguy-Yet another power metal band Edguy have been here for quite some time. No huge fan of them but yet again some albums stand out to my ears. The song is Vain Glory Opera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70GHlZ9uWJ4
Know what, I am getting really tired at typing at the moment so I will just name the band, what type of genre it is and from where they are and then offer a song that I think is good from this group. Mmmkay? Kay'.
Lucca Turrilli- Symphonic/power metal/SpainOne of Rhapsody of Fire's guitarist solo project, so goodluck finding any live performances of this music, harr :>
Song is War of the universe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uU0xnpP3D60
Lucca Turrilli's Dreamquest- Symphonic/power metal/Spain- Luca Turilli again. This is not a solo project though and does include other actors. Do not like it as much though.
Song is Energy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTdf3EzuQhM
