But as for NIN: It's really the form. Also: I like Not So Pretty Now. But let's take a song like Eraser. It just sounds like weird...ominous sounds. With almost no lyrics.
I really think that the instrumentation in their music is taken more into account than the lyrics. It's really not meant to be catchy, but it creates a dark moody atmosphere.
