the one thing that bugs me with this is how the (hair?) in the front pops out and up over the helmet. It just looks odd.

I don't know I think it looks pretty good, a lot better than it just going down the face.

Edit: Also noticed a bit of transparency on the back of the head.. Is that supposed to be there?

if you have wild hair, it would come up in the front. unless his hair is down or emo, then it wouldnt pop up.


update. added 5 o'clock shadow, and fixed the circles

Eh..

Now the face looks kinda silly

Don't know how else to describe it. The way you had it under the visor looked alright imo.

Looks good.

Only thing that seems a little weird is the other ear not being there. :|

See If you could put something else there to make it look alright.

yes, but the shadows on your helmet and the way the hair is done suggest that the helmet is shaped like that, and not that the hair pops up. Maybe some shadows on the bottom of the hair?

then it would take away the anime feel and lean more towards the realism. im not looking for that.

Yeah it still looks funny with only one ear like that. And I didn't notice before but the white/pink area on the bottom of the visor looks a little out of place as well. New face is much better btw =].

Edit: I like the eye thingy you just updated. Try tinting the end part. Just an idea.
