Secret Santa 2024
~Bump~

So like, I think I'm getting 560 instead of 570. 570 is just too much imo.

Also, my friend suggested me this spec :

CPU: Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3.1 GHz
GPU: Zotac GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB 256 Bit
MoBo: ASRock P67 Extreme4
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws High 4GB Dual Channel
Case: NZXT Lexa S
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower 875W
HDD: Western Digital 1TB USB3
ODD: LG 24X SATA
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit

All those for $1000

Questions:
-Is that CPU good enough?
-Is there a better Mobo besides that assrock for the same price?
-Which one's better? Zotac 560 ti or Msi 560 ti?
-Is 875W too much?

I'm also looking for a good HD monitor for under $200( you now the one with the leds).

Thanks in advance btw

If you wanna purchase for around 10M rupiah, i recommend change to Sandybridge one.
Try ASUS Motherboard, like P8P67 with i72600K processor, it cost around 4M rupiah
Upgrade ur PSU if u wanna take some monster GPU like GTX570 or upper , recommend GTX560Ti coz the different is not that much and cheaper. Go take 4GB RAM that's enough to run 32bit OS or 8GB to run 64bit one
i5 also have Sandybridge right? Don't you think the i7 is too much? I'm just using it for gaming. If you read the post above, I'm taking 560ti instead of 570 for the buck.

Say, what's the difference between 32bit OS and the 64bit?
Get an i5 not i7. Both have sandy bridge.

It would take a while to explain why 64bit is better. But I will just touch a few main points, needless to say it is better in your situation, firstly 32bit only lets you address up to 3.5gb of RAM, which is less than the recommended for most games, and 64bit stuff won't run on 32bit, so if you buy 32bit then really you are limiting yourself quite a bit. (just to be clear, 64bit can run 32bit software but not 16bit software, which is sometimes run on 32bit systems. Some people are all like "ohnoez 32bit stuff won't run!" but it's not that simple.)

For most work stations and general use computers I would strongly suggest 64bit.

I will buy all of those for around Rp. 10.000.000,00 (around $1200 in us dollars) with a super cold PC casing plus an LED monitor.

Is there any better card out there than Gtx 570 with a cheaper buck? And what do you think about my future rig? Can I get a better one with a same price?

Thanks in advance.

First, make sure you're getting an LGA 1155 motherboard, CPU would be core ix 2xxx, rather than core ix xxx, I suggest a core i5 2500k or the like, no need for anything more powerful than that.

Second; 750 watts isn't needed, get your self a 600W PSU unless you are thinking of using over 2 graphics card or something silly.

Third; the 570 isn't so hot, I'd go with the 560 Ti, it's much cheaper and not much slower at all, however if your getting a screen that has a resolution over 2K (2048x1080 or so) then you should consider the 570, or overclock the 560 Ti (which turns out to be just as fast as a 570 at around maximum reasonable overclock)

Lastly for a sandy bridge / LGA 1155 board you want powers of 2 RAM, so 4GB or 8GB, personally I'd aim for 4GB, as for speed 1333MHz DDR3 is fine.
