Keeps the planet from getting overpopulated?
Overpopulation is a problem because of wars.
War destroys infrastructure, lets companies exploit poor countries and all that fancy stuff. Overpopulation is a problem because of poverty.
If they had proper places to live, their own production chains, infrastructure and all that fancy stuff they could live like we do.
But naah, lets just kill them all in some wars, much easier, right?
Sure, the people in Kongo, Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistan who have a living in an endless war are marching the streets with joy because they get to kill the bad guys. Somalians are playing pirate just for fun, too.
In Afghanistan the US troops are basically fighting their old allies, the ones who got their weapons from the US back then when Russia was still the leading country of the Axis of Evil.
There is an invisible border from
Eritrea, Sudan in the east over Chad, Cameroon and Nigeria to the Ivory Cost because of Christins fighting muslims and the other way around. I guess that does not count since it happens in countries you hardly ever hear from.
That stimulation of economy you speak of could be called exploiting the losers. Nokia makes huge profits with minerals from Kongo.
Rich countries also lose job opportunities since the slaves in South America, China and Africa are so much cheaper. Berkshire Harthaway has produced in poor countries for years. People working at least 16 hours a day who still are hardly able to feed their families with the money they earn… Warren Buffet is a genius, man.
The USA throws all the money they have and don't have into wars they should not care about. Bankrupt states are good for the economy, I know.
Isreal, a country under the protection of the US, keeps invading Palestine. Because we all know Palestinians are terrorists, right?
Or the time the US helped turning Chile into a dictatorship by helping Pinochet attack La Moneda totally served democracy.
Who cares about some innocent people dying if the bad guys die in the end, right?
I would love to live in that wonderland where war serves that good purpose you speak of.
War does not serve a purpose, it just exists and destroys .
