7-20 million people pay a lot of money in taxes.
The government isn't going to deport them, mostly because they're bringing us money.

Yeah, because illegals pay taxes.

A huge part of Mexico's economy is money sent from the U.S. by illegals to Mexico.

Mexico, of course, isn't the biggest issue, but the wholehearted support that the government gives to illegal immigration is simply ludicrous. The country's government is a shitfest, and if it wasn't so corrupt I have no doubt it could be as powerful as a nation as any other modern superpower.

But this isn't about Mexico, so I digress...

When illegal immigrants get government support, it comes in the form of tax-payers money. That means that I'm required to pay for someone who couldn't be bothered to get citizenship and still gets more benefits than I do. I don't really like carrying someone who doesn't even make an effort to get his/her shit together.

While I'm not in support of illegal immigration in any way, shape or form, you must also consider that illegals from Latin American countries make up a whopping five percent of our workforce, and they're damn cheap to boot. I used to work on a plant nursery and nearly every planter and laborer there was an illegal immigrant from Mexico or a nearby country-- while they don't pay taxes directly, they provide a huge break for taxpaying business owners who utilize their labor, which obviously ensures that such business pay their taxes in full and continue to contribute to the economy.

Consider that most illegal immigrants are only equipped (and hired) to perform jobs that require heavy manual labor, including subcontracting (building), lawn work (if you live in Florida you know this to be true) and agricultural work, including (but not limited to) gathering fruit and vegetables to be put up for market, inspection, and planting.

Just thought I'd point out that Mexicans/central Americans aren't all that bad-- I can't speak for other ethnic groups though and I'd like to see some statistics regarding illegal immigrants from say, Africa or impoverished Asian nations.

that's true, but the only problem about illegal immigration in my opinion would have to be that a good amount of the illegal immigrants turn out to pass on drugs, smuggle drugs into the country, rob people, etc. If they didn't do any of that bull shit I would be fine.
Here's something I don't believe has been mentioned.
In my opinion, it's not as big an issue as the taxes, but immigration in general, when in large masses diminishes the culture of the country who is receiving the immigrants.

You guys have never actually pictured yourself as an immigrant. Immigrants immigrate because they want a better life, plain and simple. The situation right now in Mexico is complete chaos. What's wrong with them getting a chance at a better life?

Because in america. You get high taxes. Crowded public areas. And a 9% unemployment rate because of the already over-populated country.

That's fair enough, but that's immigration. The discussion here is illegal immigration and one of the biggest issues that seems to be being stated here about illegal immigration is the lack of paying for taxes. If one does not actively help support the country, contribute, and so fourth such as paying taxes, then what right does one have to be a part of the country. It's basically parasitism. The legal side of things would have to work twice as hard to maintain the country, ie: the legal side (self maintenence) and then the illegal side. There's nothing wrong with people getting a better chance at life but one must think about not only the individual, but the whole collective. If an entire group of people does what is only best for themselves, then it cancels eachother out creating a poorly functioning society and economy.

My opinion is in the middle.

I strongly disagree with them taking our jobs, welfare etc, but I understand why they came. My opinion stands at illegals need to go back and enter through the regular process.
