If I were drafted into the military I would simply serve to the best of my abilities and do my best to get back to my wife and kids. I come from a military family so I grew up with the discipline. I just don't like ducking bullets...
As for not going outside the country, the last time Canada had a draft they all went overseas in WWII.

The last draft was eliminated years ago bloob but it doesn't mean that drafts are never going to happen again.

Also Military wars don't always make people strong fedz they make some people never forget those horrific things that happened on the battlefield... making them unable to live with what they have seen and done..

I am only 12 but when I grow up I also want to join the military. Maybe you can give me a heads up to what i am shooting for.

Ok here's your heads up don't join the military as in ground troops unless you plan on being shot at and bombed ect. I once thought i wanted to go to the military, so I researched it, not necessarily online but with family and friends ect people you can get a trustworthy opinion for and here's what I heard.

In Iraq (for americans) the military had to deal with things like road bombs and were actually getting shot at and dying and such, Vietnam military we were dying infact we were bombing our own ground troops on occasion and so far so forth. Don't get me wrong thousands of ground troops And survived in Iraq but thousands also died.

However, if you do feel that you need to join the service I might suggest looking into something a bit further away from the field of combat, there is a lot more perks in the Navy, The Air force, or if you really want to join the army you could go to college and join there automatically in a higher position. Basically what I'm saying is research it before jumping into combat you might find better choices more suited to your needs.

Also If you pay taxes you can be drafted well unless you weren't born in america and I think you can get out of it Via religion, schooling, or medical issues.

I hope i didn't offend anyone with this post don't get me wrong ground troops are a major part of the fight and they are very well trained. I just don't want anyone to think I don't appreciate and support our troops.

The military has always been at the back of my mind. I'm out of shape, so joining would get me sexy. I'm just glad that I'll basically always have an out. If I can't afford college, or something detrimental happens, I have the military to join, and I'll look sexy.

In the US, the military will often pay for your college tuition if you sign up.

Not exactly the point. What if the only piece of you that makes it back to college is an arm? I seriously want you to rethink your opinion on joining the army.

Oh please. If I was really concerned about getting hurt/killed during service, I could always get a job that isn't on the field.

They have those, in case you didn't know. A lot actually. People seem to forget that. And who said I was going to join the Army? I'm mostly interested in the Marines.

If I was to join the military it be as something like a computer technician.

I highly suggest doing some research about the military before attempting to join it.
Misconception will lead to dumb deeds.
