B. Legal =! Moral correct. For one, who thinks these anonymous guys are assholes, I also think that the activities facebook takes part in are bullshit. It would be better if they were reviewed by a court, and morally 'enhanced', instead of an attack.

I do not support anonymous in any way, but I can't see any 'bad' coming from this.

Wait, you DON'T read the Terms of Service for sites which you put personal information on?

And: don't you understand that taking down a service is appointing themselves adjucator of the world and business?
What they are doing is illegal, and denying a service used by billions of people because they can and want to.
The significance of this or "bad coming from this" is the simple fact that they can probably do this and get away with it.

And any information you had stays on there for up to 90 days, after which Facebook's backups are renewed.

Whilst they're not breaking any laws by doing this, I agree with Hyde in saying that it isn't morally correct conduct. I certainly don't want governments (or anyone for that matter) spying on my activities on Facebook, regardless of the fact that I haven't been doing anything illegal.

On the subject of Anonymous' attack, i'd actually like to see how it goes. A successful attack on Facebook would make massive news, and the media would probably label them as stealing your personal information. Oh the irony.

Even if you delete your account it is retained forever. The issue I have is that while facebook's conduct is immoral, it should be a federal agency's job to review that, not Anonymous.

Hey look more than two lines.
Are they really that much dangerous?

Their hacking skills are good but they cannot hide for their whole lives, living behind the curtains.

Also, they say that anon is backed by google.

The hell? Why are they pulling google in their childish acts?
what the fuck is that ? i don't care, that doesn't mean i will get kidnaped. but i feel little afraid here.

Got any questions ? Throw me a PM or just mention @toriabiz on Twitter
I wouldn't care much if Facebook was ddos'd for a month or so, if that's what you call bringing a site down. It might actually affect my real life since that's where I organize meetings with my friends or at least keep in touch with them, other than that I can invite everyone I know to Google+ haha.
Gee, I could care less if they hacked Facebook, but what "good" will it do trying to destroy a site that most, if not all, people use? They will get much hate, even if they are doing what is right. That hate can be a downfall, because there are millions of users, and that would be fuel for a counter-attack if they slipped up on the operation. They better be careful, even though a warning is slightly dangerous, but honorable none-the-less. Most of these people didn't even know this, so they would skip the part which Anonymous is saving their butts and get pissed off over that they can't talk to their girlfriends and friends.

I'm sorry, but that's how the world works, people only thinking of themselves and their problems; it makes me sick to think that people are so self-centered. In actuality, Anonymous is trying to help, but will it be received?

<Imagining this as a full scale whitehat vs. blackhat battle.>
Nice that there doing something, though a lawsuit will be just fine.

Well maybe if such big companies weren't so greedy to get a few extra cents from their users by selling their information to third parties Anon wouldn't get so uptight?

I can't exactly blame them for what they're doing, I think it's wrong that they can sell you away to some third party to send you spam, because those third parties probably have third parties.
Luckily I use a dummy e-mail for anything I sign up to, and even that has less than 100 in a week since I did unsuscribe from those spambot's mailing lists. It's been empty for a few months.
They don't do much with it. That's all I know well of.

If Anonymous are going to do something, they need more than one prong on their spear, to ensure their going to win this.
That is, if they are really are what they say...
I'd take not doing the above means their is more to this justice, a bit of lie may be within.
That can't be good, their either masking the act, pun intended, and putting buts in it, or not a very good organization of hackers.

Why delete Facebook?
maybe the guy who posted the vid is just jealous that he can't make a trusted social
networking site like facebook
It's not about Facebook right now, it's about Anonymous and their mark on the Internet world.
If you think about it, Anonymous is plural, because it isn't exactly sewn together correctly, though the thread would be a target for whoever would like to stop this chaos to unfold.

This action is two-sided, like all great decisions:

MAIN REASON OF ACTION :
FACEBOOK HAS VIOLATED THEIR OWN CONTRACT WITH THE PEOPLE
FACEBOOK IS USING YOUR INFORMATION FOR ILLEGAL PROFITS
FACEBOOK HAS NO RIGHT OVER YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION
THE ABOVE IS AGAINST ANONYMOUS' PHILOSOPHY AND IS CURRENTLY TARGETED

OFFENSE : People would, at first, hate this action. I'm accounting the whole world and people who use Facebook professionally, though they have assured in their message that we will thank them.
This is based more on the Third Parties, but if they're doing it for the people, they're not doing it correctly, and not educating the people of their naive choice to use Facebook.
.

DEFENSE : Is not legal action, and may fall on their heads if their spearhead is cut off. However, Anonymous will remain anonymous, and thus cases cannot be presented in legal actions anyway. The only way to get another prong is to have the people who are not Anonymous to also fight, or else this is too risky.
