Have you tried adjusting your computer to the resolution and color settings?

And the fact it runs faster, is because the resolution is much smaller than the original.

firewalls have nothing to do with the game unless its with multiplayer <.<

And i didn't change the resolution. The only thing that happened was my dad cleaning the c:/ disc and i guess compressing some files. That has to be the problem, I just wan to know how to fix it

Maybe its the graphics card drivers, or something was changed in the properties of the graphics card.

Any idea what that setting could have possibly been? I don't want to mess around with it too much..

just reinstall the graphics drivers (will use default settings then)

also is your desktop colour depth at least 24 bit? that might be the problem
