I use toribash as a way to take on stress from high school.

(that isn't to say travelling is bad, we just can't travel all the time without being nomads)

That, and it's fun. I wouldn't say i play to escape reality as much as... Play because it's often more fun than reality. You're probably not going to become a space marine fighting the demons of hell in reality, but you can in a game. If your life is awesome as well, then double the bonus for you. I'll even go out on a limb and say that gaming can contribute to your happiness, since you're having fun doing it, and as long as it doesn't conflict with the rest of your life, then i don't see how it differs from any other form of recreation. Obviously you don't move a lot, but you also sit rather still while fishing or reading.

It feels so good to hear shook say "Zeno Clash", that is one of my favourite games in terms of design. Such a marvellous and deep world, and the characters' response to it really sells it, Ghat not being surprised, and even familiar, with such twisted places as the Corwid forests. They certainly tried hard to prevent the all too common situation of 'real world people put in fantasy worlds', there is no question that Ghat and Deadra really live there.

To be honest I have a hard time believing that the life of someone who plays video games all day every day is somehow bad. They enjoy it so I don't really think it is that bad. Apart from the health issues of course, but one could argue that skin cancer and sporting injuries are just as prominent and severe as any consequence of over-gaming.

I play games because I love getting good at games unless it's a game where I don't like the physics or there is no skill involved, but games are cool and different, also what am I going to pass the time on? Watching TV? No, I refuse to watch that much TV because TV is starting too suck.
depends.. of course playing games is fun but, I would be a lier if I told you I never ditched my homework to play games xD

so .. nah its a little bit more then just regular fun, its easy that it gets out of hand and it starts affecting your real life

its fully possible that you can go on playing games without dealing with your problems

alot of kids are slaves to games and they want to quit but they cant.

so my advice is, deal with your irl issues/problems/things you have you have to do, then go play games.

because after you dealt with all your problems your life may seem suprisingly more fun to live xD and you wont play games as much.. little by little.. then you just stop all together

I've been gaming ever since I was little, like 5 or 6. It's just something I like to do. It's fun for me, I'm not... erm, addicted or anything but there have been times where I've started playing a game in the morning, then when I decide to leave to go do my hair or something I see that it's dark.

That's only happened a couple of times, but still. So yeah. I can get carried away sometimes but all in all it's just for fun and enjoyment.

i think most of people play because they want to do something they cant in real life .
like a call of duty , there you can kill people with massive selection of guns and you can do it even in internet with other people.
I play games because i want to have some fun with the friends i have in some game , mostly i play toribash thesedays , in toribash i can just make up my own fighting moves and stuff , idk but somehow i feel like that toribash actually helps you to do some tricks in reallife , haha but its my opininion. Usually games help you to kinda relax and shit ... but ingame there is massive amount of scammers and guys who think that they can hack some stuff from others , most of games has the scammers , hackers and stuff. i HATE it!

Aha, but here's something that games offer over burning trees: Networks. You can play online with your mates without having to move your lazy butts. Plus, you can't really compare movies and tree burning to gaming. Kind of like that age-old apples and oranges saying; liking one does not imply liking the other. (HOO YEAH SEMICOLON)
Also, i strongly doubt people are saying that the ONLY thing they do with their friends is gaming. That would be silly. What i think they're saying is that they prefer gaming with their friends over gaming alone. Which is definitely a good point, since playing with your friends is several orders of magnitude more fun than loning around in singleplayer.
