with the editing it looses a bid of quallity thats what you have to train but the orginal ones looks awesome

is the auto focus usable for non macro photography?

Yeah you can use it for normal photography, but its not very preferable.

S'a nice shot man I do like it alot, when editing its done pretty much to perfection but with a little upping of the contrast you would get that washed out (pardon the pun) look your getting with the greys on the underside of the ripples.

Sigma's are OK.
BUT, for best results on a canon, shoot with canon lens.
And Nikon,shoot nikkor.

I would suggest in the future to use some L-glass if you get into portraits and the such.

Missuse; That would be like using a putter as a 5-iron.
