I honestly don't think it will go through.
Even if it does, it will cause a HUGE upset in the economy.
Half of YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter and other social websites will die, Internet would be in shambles, and there will be A LOT of law suits.

Or they might just not read it and pass it anyways. Thats what happened with the PATRIOT act. The senators all admitted that none of them read it before agreeing lol.

But like everyone said, if it passes then the supreme court will destroy it for being unconstitutional.

This is crazy! How can the U.S. Government do this?! It's Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression! It violates the Declaration of Independence! If this Bill passes, I will personally take action. Even if no one will follow me. They can't pass it if it violates the Constitution.

It doesn't violate the declaration of independence since the declaration of independence and the bill of rights are 2 separate things.

Btw, the bill of rights says that the government can place restrictions on the following parts of the 1st amendment: time, place, and manner. So they could try to say that its within those restrictions.

It may get passed, but the supreme court will get rid of it.

heh..... i remember this fistly getting proposed about 3 months ago, lets all face it, the US has done alot of stupid shit but this is just. WOW. If this bill goes through Google is gonna do something about, hell even some game creators like Notch has said that if this bill passes through "i'm still gonna let people put up lets plays of my games" if the game creators how big of an effect youtube and the commentators that post gameplay of their games have on their sales they would all go against this in no time.

Secondly the bill was originally made to prevent people from uploading copyrighted music and movies, but unfortunately it also takes us gamers in the bunch since we upload gameplay.

Anyhow you look at it it's a sad proposition, if they think this is gonna solve anything they're wrong.

For an example, Thepiratebay got sued for millions and swedish police shutdown the site, 3 days later the site was back up from a server in the US.

to sum up a bit.
even if the bil passes people will still upload shit. you can't stop every person on the internet from doing something illegal.......

I wouldn't mind Facebook shutting down but Youtube? Oh the irony!
