I think the eyes aren't red because it's not a face of a man smoking weed, it's a face of a man asking somebody else if they've been. It's got that kind of tone to the face.

Also, I dunno about this head. The head phones do need to go for sure though. and make the sides of the glasses too. The smile seems to be wrong too. It looks more like 'I just did something bad' face. not really a 'I just sucked down that joint like a boss' face. I would google 'pot smoker' or something similar for some reference faces.
