I have once bullied someone as a revenge for getting bullied a few years ago. He was a big shot 4 years ago, then in that final year I was with him at school he became very weird and I was then in a position to bully him. I did so out of pure stupidity and then got suspended. So sometimes, the bully has a personal reason and sometimes the victim went looking to get bullied, but bullying is bad, no matter the reasons.

Bullying is a huge part of American culture. If you watch any tv shows produced in the US you will probably see a lot of bullying, House constantly tormenting his employees, Harvey Specter and Louis Litt constantly bully subordinates, I could go on. It's not different in real life either, drill sargents really do yell at recruits, managers really do cultivate this competitive aggressive culture.

You could say this "anti-bullying" movement is a kind of counter-culture movement. I don't know about all countries, but the problem is no where near as bad in any country that I've heard of, I'm not saying other countries have 0 bullying - but that classic "everyone hates this one kid" situation and the "big bully and goons f shit up" don't exist in Australia.

USA is a country built on status by tearing down rivals, it's a cultural thing.

I don't think targeting bullying in schools is enough to stop this problem - that's like saying "we can fix the gun problem by not letting children use guns"...

Cow, I do agree with you, but not completely. In Australia, we have just as bad as a bullying problem as America does. It just isn't as public because nothing is really done about it.

When we say "Bullies" we are not refering to the elementary ones • he called me stupid !!• were reffering to the highschool and middle school Bullies , that is when the big effects on his/her life begin to take place, as the bullying goes on the more the person gets effected, but , that depends on the persons character himself , for example I can be big and muscular , and I am weak minded and low self-esteemed, or I can be skinny and short but know how to peacefully yet firmly stand up for my respect . That's why we can't decide whether bullying is more efficient in Australia or America , or anywhere , since every person has his own perspective of it . As for targeting bullying in schools , bully main effect is the destruction of ones mind and self-esteem , these anti bullying programs are meant to rebuild this broken composure , it is physically impossible to target every bully because there will always be more and more .

I'm currently facing this for four months now, and been trying to stand up for myself, and I can tell, if I wasn't mentally strong, I've committed suicide a long time ago.

We need the bullies to motivate the ones who don't know they are that strong yet. It pushes them to be greater and it happens all the time, except them rich bullies.

Are you people seriously trying to justify what a bully does? Or are you really ignorant as to what a bully really is?

The sort of bullies portrayed in this video are the sort that make your life a living hell. Not the sort that want you to be tougher, but want to make themselves feel good. I wouldn't call constant verbal and physical abuse and alienation "helping someone to toughen up."

I just call it gutless.

I myself have been bullied, my life was a living hell. You know what changed? I actually fought. I didn't just sit there in self pity let others help me out. Because quite frankly no one would help me. I said to myself one day, fuck it and fought back. Not to long after I became a bully making others life a living hell.

I did it for the sole reason of I wanted to make others feel the same pain I did. I still do it from time to time. I know it's wrong but, it was something I felt I needed to do in order to get myself back in check. Like I said I only do it from time to time, it doesn't make me a good person, quite the opposite but, I've gotten myself back up to the point where I can see this is wrong and I'm actually fixing myself. I don't expect you to respect me for my actions in fact I'd be more happy to know you would degrade me for such behavior.
